THE GABBY OTVOS STORY
In August of 2013, Gabby Otvos was diagnosed with a renal cyst.
Upon further examination, it was determined the cyst had malignant potential.
Because Gabby’s husband, Marion, is an evangelist in Romania and is supported
by churches in the United States, they did not qualify for access to the Romanian
healthcare system. Friends in the U.S. consulted with hospitals and determined her
surgery would cost as much as $67,000. They immediately rallied to her side and
began an aggressive fundraising campaign. This effort, along with a matching grant
from 1213, allowed Gabby to have the life-saving surgery she needed.
THE PATSY OLIVER STORY
Patsy Oliver is a widow caring for her 2 adult children on a
limited income. Her local church family has provided assistance
to Patsy over the years, but when her 40 year old house needed
a new roof, they couldn’t fulfill the entire need. They were able
to come up with half of the money and turned to 1213 for help.
The church in Palmetto is a perfect example of Christians
“distributing to the needs of the saints.”
THE LONGSTRETH’S STORY
